![]() I think it's probably got something to do with the incredibly short runs that BL do on titles.Ī lot of people dislike hardbacks, so will wait for a paperback every time. Normally, BL titles wouldn't be considered a large enough release to do this, but they've jumped on the bank wagon too. ![]() With ebooks taking more of the market, publishers are really trying to wring money from everyone possible. I work in a bookshop and almost every major fiction released now goes HB -> TPB -> PB. Trade paperbacks are not just a BL thing, they're an epidemic across all book selling. ![]() All the price of a hardback with all the downsides of a paperback, plus there usually more fragile because of their size. To make matters worse they insist on releasing only those awful oversized paperbacks.
